The Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida has started work on a new museum building, designed by architect Yann Weymouth (who also worked on the renovation of the Louvre in Paris). It has been described as being like the Spanish surrealist himself, “representing a vivid and flowing imagination engulfing the staid and predictable”. The museum will also provide new ways to display Dali’s work, including a theatre where his films can be shown, and is expected to be completed as early as 2011.
